Manitoba is one of the prairie provinces of Canada with a history of rich agricultural production. The capital city of Manitoba is Winnipeg. The province is bordered by Saskatchewan on the west and Ontario on the east.

The Manitoba PNP has a host of immigration pathways for eligible applicants to become Permanent Residents of Canada. The immigration pathways are divided into four major categories:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba
  • Skilled Workers Overseas
  • International Education Stream
  • Business Investor Stream

Skilled Workers in Manitoba

There are three sub-categories under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream. These streams target workers who are already working in Manitoba or those who have a job offer from the province. You must be currently living and working in Manitoba to be eligible under this stream.

The three pathways available under Skilled Workers in Manitoba are:

  • Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream
  • Manitoba Experience Pathway
  • Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway

Skilled Workers Overseas

The Skilled Workers Overseas pathway has three sub-categories to bring in skilled workers to meet the labour market needs of Manitoba. Priority is given to candidates who have relevant work experience in any one of the in-demand occupations in Manitoba.

The three sub-categories under the Skilled Workers Overseas category are:

  • Manitoba Skilled Workers Overseas Stream

Eligible candidates under this stream must be able to demonstrate a connection to Manitoba. You may demonstrate this connection in any one of the ways below:

You must also score 60 points on the Manitoba points grid as part of the Manitoba PNP requirements. Plus, you would also need to submit a settlement plan detailing your plan on integrating into life in Manitoba.

Settlement funds are also an important part of your Manitoba PNP application. You would need to show at least CAD 10,000 for yourself and CAD 2000 for each accompanying family member.

  • Manitoba Express Entry Pathway

The Manitoba Express Entry Stream is linked to IRCC’s Express Entry Program. This stream ranks eligible applicants against one another using the MPNP Ranking System.

To apply, you must first have a valid profile in the Express Entry Pool. You must then submit a copy of your profile to the MPNP.

You must also be able to prove your ability and intent to live permanently in Manitoba and become economically successful in the province. You can do so by confirming support from a family member or close friend residing in Manitoba.

You can also be eligible if you receive an invitation through the Manitoba Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

If your nominated occupation is under NOC 0 or A, you must demonstrate language proficiency by scoring CLB 7 or above. For occupations in the NOC B category, you must have a language score of CLB 6 or higher.

You need to score at least 60 points out of 100 on the Manitoba points assessment grid. You must also have at least 6 months of work experience in an occupation that is in-demand in Manitoba. You also must have completed at least a one-year post-secondary program.

Eligible applicants must also submit a settlement plan about their plans to settle down in Manitoba.
